When the 'file download' window appears, click the save this program to disk radio button and click OK.

The 'Save As' window should open. Pay attention to the location appearing in the 'Save in:' field and navigate until Desktop appears in this area. Just to the right, select the yellow create new folder icon and name the new folder FTP. Double-click the FTP folder you just created and it should appear in the 'Save in:' field. Click OK. The program will download to the FTP folder on your desktop. When the download is complete close any remaining dialog windows.

A winzip self-extractor window will open prompting you with 'Unzip to folder". Use the browse button to navigate to a suitable folder. The FTP folder on the desktop is a good choice. Open the folder containing the unzipped files and double-click the file named install.exe or inst32. This should begin the installation program. Read and accept the license agreement A 'Locate Directory' window will open prompting you for a place to install the program. The default directory of 'C:\Program Files\WS_FTP' should be a good place, but you can choose any other location if you desire. Click OK to accept the installation folder. Next it will prompt you for a location of the local destination directory for file transfers. Type or use the browse button to select the location of your files you will be transferring to the Internet website (This location can be changed easily within the installed program). Click OK. Select the program version you wish to install. The selection chosen by the installation program is usually the best choice. If you have this program already installed or attempted a previous installation and did not finish, you may see a dialog box asking if you wish to overwrite an existing INI file. If your previous installation was successful and you customized the settings to your liking DO NOT overwrite the INI file. Enter your email address in the next input box unless you don't plan to use anonomous FTP sites; click OK. In the next dialog box you can select an existing Program Manager Group or click OK to accept the program default group. If the installation was successful the next window should be a congratulations window. Click OK and the installation program should terminate.

The main difference between the 2 and 4 window version is the placement of the folders. With the 4 window version the folders are in a seperate window; with the 2 window version the folders are either at the top or the bottom of the file listing. With either version you will notice the files shown on the left side of the screen are on the Local System (your computer). The files on the right side are on the Remote Server (the Internet server).
